Contribute

We want to publish as much as we can about syndicalism. If you’d like to help us in that endeavor, our needs mainly boil down to three things:

  1. Texts
  2. Metadata
  3. Images

That is, in addition to the actual text of some publication, we need the details about who authored it and when and where it was published, as well as an image to go along with it. Any context (for instance, if a particular text was in response to some other work or if it is a selection from a longer piece) is also useful.

The main bottleneck we have is with images. If you’d like to contribute one, we’re looking for original or public domain images (altered if you so desire) that have something to do with labor or direct action - scenes of people working, strikes, pickets, crowds at rallies or speeches, etc. Take a look at those that accompany our current set of texts for examples. Their aspect ratio should be 16:9, with a minimum size of 1280 x 720 pixels (and preferably 1920 x 1080). File size should be no larger than 2mb, and preferably closer to 1mb. For public domain images, please include the source and url where it can be found.

Our color palette is:

After images, our next biggest need is digitized copy of printed materials, which typically takes the form of scanned pdfs. Links to these from elsewhere or the actual files themselves will work. We need this not only for the actual content, but also for proofing against digital text that may already exist online.

Finally, we’re also interested in suggestions of materials to add, even if it’s just a title or a link to something.

If you would like to send something our way, please drop us a line at synd123icalismorg@pro123tonma123il.com. If you don’t have any files to send, you can also mention us or send us a direct message on Twitter. If you send an image that you created or altered, please let us know how you’d like to be attributed. If you’re on Twitter, let us know your username so we can mention you when we post the text (unless you don’t want us to).

Below you can find our up-to-date queue of things we’re going to publish, along with our progress/needs on them. If you can help with one of them in some manner, we’d greatly appreciate it.

Text Queue

This is a list of all the texts that we currently have queued up to publish, in roughly the order in which we intend to add them. Their statuses range from nearly done to “hey, we’ve heard of this one.” The tags on them show what work is still needed. If a text has no tag, it means it’s just about finished and no help is needed on it.
